Impact Award – Todd O’Brien (Group 6)
Exceeding customer’s expectations and always leaving them happy. Those may be goals for most business owners but not many make them their number one priority. Todd O’Brien is proud to say he succeeds at this. We’re proud to give this Group 6 graduate the December 2011 Essential Communications Impact Award.
Since forming in 2004, O’Brien and Family has become a premier landscaping company in Durham Region. OSEB provided Todd with solid fundamental training and taught him how to sustain business in an industry with much competition. O’Brien and Family has many facets to the company and that may very well be another secret to success. Aside from all of the regular landscaping aspects, Todd’s design and construction specialties are at the forefront with things like pond/waterfall installation and stone steps where they not only take care of installation but also build them of natural stone. Excavation services will even give customers the opportunity to rent a mini-track loader and operator. And you may be wondering why we’re recognizing a landscaper when winter is upon us. O’Brien and Family also take care of all your snow removal needs!
Over the years Todd has watched his business suffer ups and downs. Like everyone, he has had some hurdles – the biggest being in the human resources department. Happily, O’Brien and Family now has three additional employees and is moving along wonderfully. Todd was also able to make everything much more efficient with the purchase of a Bobcat machine. Some prestigious titles have also been added – Todd is now a UNILOCK Authorized Contractor and he is also a Veteran’s Service Provider for Veterans Affairs.
