CARAHS Thursday October 18, 2012 Workshop. – Discusses the Ontario College
of Trades

This months speaker will be Ron Johnson, who will discuss how the new
college will help your business.

As Deputy Director of Interior Systems Contractors Association of Ontario
and the Interior Finishing Systems Training Centre, Mr. Johnson has been a
strong advocate of apprenticeship training in the Province of Ontario. He
has forged strong relationships between labour and management and provided
stakeholder input on apprenticeship reform to industry and government.

The Ontario College of Trades is an industry-led organization that will
protect the public interest by regulating and promoting the skilled trades.
As a first of its kind in North America, the College will be putting
decision-making back in the hands of skilled trades people. The College will
promote the skilled trades as a career of first choice for young people and
work with industry professionals to find solutions to matters that affect
the skilled trades system.
